van Dam assisted volunteers from the Laura Recovery
Center Tuesday in helping search for his missing
daughter, seven year old Danielle van Dam. Searchers
located some articles in a canyon area near Sabre
Springs Parkway and Poway Road. Police collected
a backpack and denim overalls, but they do not believe
they are related to Danielle's disappearance.

Home Searched Again

DIEGO, CA - Police returned to the home of a neighbor
of missing seven year old Danielle van Dam Wednesday.
Officers arrived at David Westerfield's house around
6pm. They stayed for about five hours before removing
more property. In a written statement, investigators
would only say they were there to serve a search
warrant. Danielle van Dam has been missing since
February 2. No arrests have been made in the case.

DIEGO, CA - Police
investigating the disappearance of seven year old Danielle
van Dam have requested the assistance of the sheriff's department
to help search an area of Poway. They will be looking in
an area near Espola Road and Poway Road starting early Sunday
morning. This is an area reported to be near where possible
suspect David Westerfield stored his motorhome. Searchers
are expected to begin at 7:30am.

returned to the Van Dam home Tuesday. According
to a department spokesperson, they were there to
complete a procedure that was initiated during an
earlier visit. Investigators removed more evidence
from the home. They say the two week investigation
has yielded in excess of 100 pieces of potential
evidence.

the second time in as many days Wednesday, investigators
returned to the van Dam home and removed more potential
evidence. The closet doors were taken from Danielle's
room. Authorities hope to remove finger prints from
the doors.

DIEGO , CA - The
search for Danielle van Dam went south of the border
to Mexico Thursday. San Diego Police say a tip led
them to a location reported to be in Tijuana. No
information was released about this part of the
investigation.

in Van Dam Case

DIEGO, CA - Police
made an arrest in the case of a missing seven year
old Sabre Springs girl. Danielle van Dam was reported
missing on February 2nd. Forty-nine year old David
Westerfield was taken into custody at his attorney's
office Friday morning. At this point Mr. Westerfield
has been charged with kidnapping. Authorities indicate
that DNA evidence was recovered from an article
of Westerfield's clothing as well as from his motorhome.
Additional charges are anticipated.

DIEGO, CA - At a press conference Monday morning,
San Diego County District Attorney Paul Pfingst
announced that murder charges will be added in the
case against David Westerfield. Westerfield was
arrested Friday and charged with kidnapping related
to the disappearance of seven year old Danielle
van Dam. Danielle was reported missing on February
2nd and she hasn't been seen since. Westerfield's
arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday at 1:30pm.

court room Tuesday on charges he kidnapped and murdered
seven year old Danielle van Dam. Danielle was reported
missing February 2nd and hasn't been seen since. Westerfield
pleaded not guilty to all charges. He remains in custody
without bail.
