Deputies
responded to 18241 Colina Norte Road in Rancho Santa Fe
Wednesday afternoon. They apparently received an anonymous
call telling them of a mass suicide at the residence.
When officers arrived at the estate they found the victims
in a very neat fashion, all laying on beds.
The
following photos were released at a news conference Thursday
by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators
believe they died in three different groups, at three different
times over the course of several days. Each group helping the
other.
According
to the San Diego County Medical Examiner, Dr. Brian D. Blackbourne,
the first autopsy reports indicate they died of an overdose
of Phenobarbital mixed with alcohol.

These
people left a video tape, apparently to explain why they wanted
to take their own life. Twenty-one women and eighteen men died,
three in their twenties, four in their thirties, twenty-one
in their forties, eight in their fifties, four in their sixties
and one in their seventies.
