SAN DIEGO, CA - (1-22-08) The County of San Diego has announced a program that gives relief to property owners whose home prices have dropped below the assessed value. The program temporarily reduces the assessed value to market value. Home owners who do receive a reduction will be reassessed each year thereafter and when/if the value increases, taxes will increase to the point the assessed value reaches the original value.
