an hour long pursuit Sunday night. The chase began after a woman reported that she had just escaped after being held captive for a week and that the suspect fled the area in her vehicle. Sheriff's deputies located the truck in the Pala area and attempted a traffic stop. The driver continued and the chase was on. Authorities were able to stop the truck on I-5 near Via De La Valle, but the driver refused to exit. Deputies shot out the truck's windows and that prompted the suspect to give up without further incident. The suspect has been identified as William Joseph Federico (45). The kidnapping allegedly happened in Placentia.
