are searching an area near Balboa Park Thursday after
the stepfather of a two year old boy reported the boy
missing. The stepfather (photo
bottom right) told
police that he left two year old Jahi Turner (photos
above)
at the play ground near 28th and Ceder Street, while he
went about 100 yards away to get a soda. He told police
that when he returned, the boy was missing. Authorities
searched the area through the afternoon and into the night.
The boy's mother is in the navy. She had been at sea for
the past few days, but returned after receiving the information.
UPDATE:
The search was scaled back Thursday night, but continued
again on Friday. Anyone who would like to volunteer to

DIEGO, CA - Police believe that two year old Jahi Turner
was abducted or is the victim of a crime. That announcement
came after extensive search of the area his stepfather,
Tieray Jones, reported the boy missing. Authorities are
looking for a woman (composite

that Mr. Jones said was at the park at the time of Jahi's
disappearance. Anyone with information about this woman
or the whereabouts of Jahi is asked to call police at
619-531-2000. Authorities did not say why, but they also
impounded Jahi's parent's car.

are taking over the search for two year old Jahi Turner.
Around 60 volunteers spent the day Saturday looking for
clues. Jahi has not been seen since before Thursday. His
stepfather told police that the boy disappeared while
the two were at Balboa Park on Thursday.
Police have not allowed the boy's parents to return to
their South Park home. Saturday they continued their investigation
inside the apartment.

to search fields and canyons around Balboa Park as well
as areas near his South Park home. Jahi's parents were
allowed to return back to the apartment on Sunday.

are continuing to talk to the woman, but at this point

their son missing five days ago, the parents of
two year old Jahi Turner pleaded for his safe return
Tuesday. Tieray and Tameka Jones are asking for
the public's assistance. The boy was reported missing

police that he left the area for fifteen minutes
and when he returned the boy was gone.

Officials located several articles, including something

Winnie the Pooh is a favorite of Jahi. The possible

of trash, investigators completed the search of
the Miramar landfill Monday. They had been there
for the last six days looking for clues into the
disappearance of two year old Jahi Turner. Jahi
has not been seen in over a week when his stepfather
reported him missing from Balboa Park. According
to a police report, some articles were recovered
from the landfill, but authorities will not comment
on them.

old Jahi Turner. Tuesday they scoured an Encanto
canyon. A tip from a nearby resident led them there.
Two suspicious areas were located, but police investigators
say neither contained anything related to the boy's
disappearance. The headquarters for the search has
changed locations. It is now located at the Jackie
Robinson YMCA.
