DIEGO, CA - Arizona met Nebraska in the 1998 Culligan Holiday Bowl Wednesday
at Qualcomm Stadium. |

| Arizona
seemed to control the game early. The Wildcats grabbed a 9-0 lead on three
fieldgoals. |

| The
rest of the first half was all Nebraska. The Cornhuskers scored thirteen
unanswered including a 45 yard touchdown pass from Eric Crouch to Shevin
Wiggins (photo below) Nebraska took a 13 to 9 lead into the intermission. |

Strong
defensive play by both teams kept the game close through the third quarter.

Then,
a forth down conversion late in the quarter led to an Arizona touchdown
and seemed to invigorate the Wildcats. An interception by Arizona All-American
cornerback Chris McCalester (photo bottom right) with less than
four minutes to play sealed the win for Arizona. The Wildcats went on to
defeat Nebraska by a final score of 23 to 20.
