FIRE STORM
Burns Scores Of Homes
CARLSBAD - A blaze started in North San Diego County around 2 pm Monday. By Tuesday morning more than 100 Homes had burned and with daylight came the ominous reality of the devastation.  It seemed like a nightmare as a wild fire ripped through the suburban communities of La Costa and San Marcos. Houses were lost to fast moving flames, jumping from spot to spot, burning some homes and leaving others untouched.

Governor Wilson signed a Declaration of State of Emergency, making funds available to fire victims.

As fire spread through neighborhoods, hundreds were ordered to evacuate their homes. American Red Cross Officials set up temporary shelter at San Marcos High School.
