3 Alarm Fire, $20 Million Loss

Banner May Be Clue:

"You Build It - We'll Burn It"

SAN DIEGO, CA - A 3rd alarm fire destroyed a condominium complex under construction early Friday morning in La Jolla. It happened just after 3am near La Jolla Village Drive and Town Center Drive. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

UPDATE: The area has been identified as a crime scene and federal and local authorities are attempting to determine the cause. Officials say a banner was left at the scene reading "you build it - we'll burn it" signed ELF. Investigators believe ELF is an acronym for Earth Liberation Front. A self proclaimed underground international movement. Dedicated, among other things, to inflicting economic damage on those exploiting the natural environment.
